EPL Predictions Week 2:

Leicester @ Arsenal

Saturday, August 13 at 10:00 a.m. ET

Arsenal and Leicester each face an early season test on Saturday when the sides meet at the Emirates in one of the weekend's marquee fixtures. Leicester comes into this one off the back of a disappointing 2-2 home draw with Brentford, in which they let a 2-0 lead slip in the game's final half hour. Nonetheless, the Foxes have the quality to make life difficult for Arsenal.

While Arsenal's attack was not at its potent best against Crystal Palace, the Gunners' front line should be able to create chances facing a Leicester defense that had the fourth-fewest clean sheets (seven) in the league last season. Only Leeds, Watford, and Norwich allowed more expected goals than the Foxes (61 xGA) in 2021-22.

Additionally, there were over 2.5 goals in 63% of Leicester's games in 2021-22 (second highest in the league). Backing the Over is always a good wager with Brendan Rodgers' teams, even at a short price.

Manchester United @ Brentford

Saturday, August 13 at 12:30 p.m. ET

Despite being outplayed by Brighton at Old Trafford last weekend, Manchester United are still favorites for their trip to Brentford.

It should be mentioned that Brentford, in racking up 24 of their 46 points last season at home, defeated Arsenal and West Ham and held Liverpool and Tottenham to draws at the Brentford Community Stadium last season and, of course, dished out a 4-1 hammering to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in early April.

Ten Hag has a lot of work to do with this Man United side. The midfield was exposed against Brighton. Eyeing new signings like Adrien Rabiot gives some hope, but will be too late ahead of the game on Saturday. And, of course, the uncertainty surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo continues to loom over the attack.

Looking through the best EPL odds, FanDuel's +250 on a draw offers the best value. Brentford has shown they can take points off the top sides, and the Red Devils, though motivated, have shown a propensity for surrendering points for some time now. Given their inconsistency, it's hard to have any real confidence these days in Man United winning away from home, let alone as a short favorite (+100).

Tottenham @ Chelsea

Sunday, August 14 at 11:30 a.m. ET

Tottenham lived up to preseason expectations with a 4-1 opening weekend thrashing of Southampton. However, Antonio Conte's team is still underdogs for their trip to Chelsea on Sunday.

This is despite an uninspiring performance from Thomas Tuchel's Blues to start the season, in which they ground out a 1-0 win over Everton. An away win to start the season is a hugely positive result and even more so, beating the Toffees for the first time since 2017 at Goodison Park. Still, Chelsea's attack lacked firepower throughout the game and needed a first-half stoppage time penalty from Jorginho to secure the points by the narrowest of margins.

If that performance is indicative of where Chelsea is, the hosts simply do not have the attack to go toe-to-toe with Tottenham, who started the season in fine goal-scoring form, even without Harry Kane or Heung-min Son getting on the score sheet. Harry Kane will want to hit a good run of form soon, otherwise, questions may be asked ahead of the 2022 World Cup

This matchup is never dull, and it's a safe bet that this meeting will be another fiery one. Spurs to win on Sunday is one of our top EPL predictions for Week 2!
