Detroit just reminded everyone what full-strength looks like. After a four-game losing streak, the Pistons obliterated Brooklyn 138-100 on the road Tuesday. Cade Cunningham went for 21 points and 15 assists while shooting 80 percent from the field and 80 percent from three. Jalen Duren added 26 points, four rebounds, four assists, two steals, and two blocks. Every available Pistons player scored. At home this season Detroit is 23-8 with a plus-9.7 point differential, a number that reflects what Little Caesars Arena looks like for opposing teams on a normal night. A depleted Philadelphia squad is not a normal situation.
Here is what the 76ers are missing. Embiid, averaging 26.6 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, is out with an oblique injury. Maxey, the team leader at 29.0 PPG, averaged 32.0 points across two games against Detroit earlier this season and is now out with a right pinkie tendon injury. George is serving a 25-game suspension. Oubre is gone at least two weeks with a left elbow sprain. Johni Broome just had knee surgery. Adem Bona, who has been starting at center this past week, is listed questionable Thursday with back soreness. VJ Edgecombe steps into the de facto primary scorer role at 15.4 points per game on the season, and he averaged just 14.5 against this Detroit defense in two prior matchups this year.
Detroit owns the season series 2-0, winning 114-105 and 111-108 back in November when Maxey was healthy and active. Without him, our Score Predictor projects a 117.3-103.9 final, a 13.4-point Pistons margin that makes the posted -7.0 spread look generous. The market-implied score agrees at 118.0-103.0. Both models are pointed in exactly the same direction, and so is every available piece of injury context.

The sharpest single bet is Pistons -7.0, where the model hands you 6.4 points of cushion on a projected 13.4-point margin. For a same-game parlay, Pistons -7.0 combined with Under 221.5 and Duren Over 10.5 Rebounds tells one coherent story: Detroit controls pace, the total stays suppressed, and Duren dominates the glass against zero interior resistance. All three legs reinforce the identical blowout narrative, which is exactly what you want in a parlay construction. On the side props, Cade Over 9.5 Assists at -175 is worth a strong look given his 9.9 APG season average and the open passing lanes he will find all night against a defense that cannot guard the pick-and-roll. Duncan Robinson Under 9.5 Points at plus odds (+114) is also live if garbage time cuts into his fourth-quarter shot attempts.
One honest caveat. Detroit just shot 80 percent from the field and put up 138 points on Tuesday. Offensive regression is natural after a performance like that, and a cooler Pistons output could keep the total slightly tighter than expected. But here is the key point: even a regressed Detroit team wins this game comfortably. The variance is in the margin of victory, not the outcome itself. The 76ers roster as currently constructed is not equipped to compete against an elite defense at full depth. Trust the model in this spot, manage position sizes appropriately, and note that the first basket market on Duren at +475 offers speculative value for those who believe he attacks the paint immediately against an Embiid-less front.
