Yesavage's situation is harder to read. He has genuine ability: a 6.0-inning, 7-strikeout outing at Seattle on July 5 showed what he can be, and his June 29 start against the Mets (6.2 IP, 1 ER) was equally controlled. Then came July 11 against San Diego, and the wheels came off. Seven walks in 1.2 innings, four earned runs, and an early hook. That is not a blip. Command doesn't collapse to that degree without something being genuinely off. Both starters are on extended rest, Burke at 9 days and Yesavage at 8. Burke, that rest follows a dominant run and adds nothing to worry about. Yesavage, it adds a full week of uncertainty about whether the command issue is resolved or only buried.
The series context is worth noting briefly. Chicago won 12-4 on Thursday. Toronto answered with a 1-0 shutout Friday. Sunday is the rubber game. The White Sox come in 51-46 with a +42 run differential. The Blue Jays are 46-52 with a -42 run differential. That is an 84-run gap between these clubs across the same number of games. Toronto's home record at Rogers Centre (25-26) doesn't overcome what that number says about team quality. The dome eliminates weather variance entirely, and the park carries an above-average HR factor of 1.08.
The batters-versus-pitcher data in this game is striking. Ernie Clement is 0-for-4 lifetime against Burke with a .000 OPS. Daulton Varsho is 0-for-3 in 2026 against him. Kazuma Okamoto is 0-for-3 in 2026 with a .000 OPS. Three of the more consistent names in Toronto's lineup have found no answer for this pitcher in their limited looks. The one caution: Nathan Lukes went 1-for-3 against Burke in 2025 with a home run, producing a 2.667 OPS in three PA. That sample is small but worth tracking given the Rogers Centre HR factor. No CHW batter has any career data against Yesavage, which removes BvP as a factor from the other side entirely.

The contrarian case for Toronto is worth acknowledging honestly. Yesavage looked sharp at Seattle two starts back: 6.0 innings, 7 strikeouts, 2 earned runs. Win probability is genuinely close to 50-50 as priced. Okamoto has 22 HR and the park plays friendly. If Yesavage finds his July 5 command, the Chicago White Sox pick becomes a grind. That is possible. It is just the less likely scenario when you weigh the walk rate data against what Burke has shown over three consecutive dominant starts. The sharper play is the prop, not the moneyline, if you are limiting action. Burke Over 5.5 Ks is the clearest non-market-noise edge on this board. The moneyline and run line follow from the same logic if you want game result exposure. The Under at even money is a marginal secondary play contingent on Burke staying sharp. Murakami's HR prop at +275 is a low-confidence long shot worth a small wager on power profile and park factor alone. For the full slate, see our MLB picks today, NRFI picks, and player props.
