Game Preview of Jacksonville Jaguars @ Indianapolis Colts. Week 17 of 2025 NFL Season
Jacksonville enters as a 6.5-point favorite, and for good reason. They’re scoring over 27 points per game, the best in franchise history, and have been rolling through weaker opponents. With Trevor Lawrence playing at an MVP level and multiple threats at wide receiver and running back, this offense is tough to slow down.
Indianapolis will need to find answers on both sides of the ball. Star DT DeForest Buckner is questionable, and without him, stopping Travis Etienne and the Jags’ balanced attack becomes much harder. On offense, veteran Philip Rivers leads a Colts team that must rely on quick passes and big plays to keep pace.
This divisional rematch is more than just a rivalry, it’s a de facto playoff game. Expect urgency, scripted plays early, and plenty of action on both sides of the ball.

The Colts will need a clean game from Philip Rivers and a few explosive plays to stay within reach. Injuries along the offensive line and on defense could limit their upside. Still, home-field urgency and divisional familiarity give them a puncher’s chance.
The betting lines reflect Jacksonville’s edge, but also suggest a high-scoring game is possible if both offenses execute. Monitor injury reports, especially for Buckner and the Jaguars’ corners, as they could swing how this one plays out.
In all, the Jaguars look like the more complete team. But with the Colts’ season on the line, expect a full-effort performance in what could be a tight divisional battle.
